Login to AnswerWe're looking at better security options for a construction site in Australia, and someone suggested using solar CCTV instead of a standard wired setup. I haven't used that type of system before. What do you think are the biggest benefits of installing it, especially for temporary projects?
Solar camera systems seem to be becoming much more common across Australian construction projects and other temporary worksites. They make sense in places where running cables is difficult or where the site changes regularly. I also like that they can often be relocated without much effort, which is useful as projects progress. Choosing the right system still depends on the size of the site and the level of monitoring that's needed, but the flexibility is definitely a major advantage.
We switched to solar cctv through UVS Group on one of our construction sites in Australia after dealing with the hassle of running power to cameras. The biggest advantage was how quickly everything could be set up and moved when the site layout changed. We also liked that the system kept working without relying on the site's electricity, which gave us extra peace of mind. Remote access made it easy to check the cameras from anywhere, and the image quality was much better than we expected. For temporary projects, it turned out to be a really practical solution.
