Hole in my wall from a door handle?

I put a fist sized hole in my bedroom wall moving furniture last year. Watched a few videos, bought a patch kit, and somehow made the damage look even worse. A neighbour told me about a company that does drywall repair Toronto. The person who came over fixed it in under an hour, sanded everything smooth, and matched the texture so you could not see anything was wrong. No mess, no stress. That was just my experience. Hope it helps someone in the same situation.

So last week I was carrying a heavy box into my bedroom and lost my grip. The corner of the box slammed right into the wall right behind my door. Now there is a decent sized hole, maybe the size of my fist, with the drywall pushed in and some cracking around the edges. I tried to ignore it but every time I walk past my bedroom I see it and it drives me crazy. I am not handy at all. I watched a few repair videos and they talk about mesh patches, joint compound, sanding, priming, it looks like a whole weekend project and I know I will just make a mess. I live in a rental in midtown Toronto and my landlord is pretty chill but I would rather just fix it myself before they notice. So has anyone in Toronto hired a handyman just to patch a small hole in drywall, like a fist sized dent or crack, and roughly how much does something like that cost for a simple repair that you cannot even tell was there after?
