I was totally lost about freelance payments when I first started. No idea which service to use, how to avoid high fees, or how to get money into my local bank account without losing half of it. Then I found a site that breaks down payment methods for Filipino freelancers in plain language. It explained Wise for international transfers, Payoneer for platform payouts, and even covered PayPal and GCash for local clients. It also touched on BIR registration and invoices, which I had no clue about. That guide made everything click for me. No confusing jargon, just straight talk. I am just starting out as a freelancer and I have no idea how to handle payments, especially from international clients. What do most Pinoy freelancers use to receive money from abroad without losing too much on fees and exchange rates? Is Wise really better than Payoneer or PayPal, and how do you actually withdraw to a local bank account like BPI or BDO without any problems? Also, do you really need to register with BIR and pay taxes even if you are just earning a little on the side? I am confused about the whole setup. Would love to hear what actually works for people who have been doing this for a while.
