 I notice that platforms often hide or archive content automatically when it’s inactive for a while, even outside of dating apps. On social feeds, posts or messages that aren’t interacted with tend to fade from view, so it makes sense that chats might disappear. Regularly engaging with content or contacts seems to keep things visible, and even a small notification check can prevent things from vanishing unnoticed.

I’ve had the same happen a couple of times. From my experience, it usually happens if the other person deletes their profile or the platform flags the conversation for inactivity. I recently noticed that some of my chats on Facebook Dating disappeared without warning, and I have no idea why. A few conversations I was actually interested in just vanished, and I can’t tell if it was a bug, a deletion, or something else. Has anyone experienced this? Is there any way to recover these chats or prevent them from being deactivated in the future? It’s really frustrating when connections just disappear.
