Visually challenged wins Young Achiever is Award

GUWAHATI, Nov 9 – Dipankar Barman, Assistant Professor, Department of Political Science, Bapujee College – who is visually-challenged – has won the AOF Young Achiever’s Award from the eastern region. He is among five such individuals chosen from the country.



A student of Guwahati Blind School, Basistha, Dipankar later did his Master’s degree in Political Science from the Gauhati University and LLB from the same university. He also obtained national scholarship for students with disability from the Union Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment in year 2005-06. He was also a member of the committee on Course and Studies of Department of Disabilities Studies, GU.
