WHILE in Marinduque last week, I got the chance to meet an entrepreneur selling health products via multi-level-marketing or MLM. He was one of the participants of an E-Commerce and Digital Marketing workshop for MSMEs, where I was tapped as a resource person by DOST-Mimaropa.
A common challenge for many entrepreneurs in the MLM business is generating repeat sales after a recruit gets the basic business package. They usually have a website to provide information about the product but most are uncertain if this is really working and so with their advertising efforts.
I believe direct selling and MLM entities need to have two types of websites. One for pure selling, the other to educate, inform or entertain.
That way, their agent network will have content that they can share on a regular basis to help build their credibility or authority. These articles are those that will appeal to the target market. It is meant to build familiarity, show passion and demonstrate knowledge on the playing field.
