KUALA LUMPUR: Police have arrested a 54-year-old man after a single mother alleged she had been sexually assaulted by her mentor in a multi-level marketing scheme and lost RM80,000 in earnings.
More than 20 police reports had been lodged against the company in the Klang Valley and Kedah, police said.
The woman, M. Thamilchelvy, 45, was quoted as saying she had passed out after drinking some juice and awoke to find the man performing oral sex on her and fondling her breasts.
He said he had recorded everything on his mobile phone and threatened to put it online.
The woman said she had gone to his office in Taman Melawati on Feb 23 for a discussion, and her goal of owning a new BMW. She was led to a small room in the office and offered some orange juice while waiting for other women to attend.
She started feeling drowsy and passed out after the drink and awoke to find him performing oral sex and fondling her breasts. When she started screaming at him, he hugged her and tried to kiss her, she said, according to Star Online.
She said the multi-level marketing company sacked her on March 17 for being late for a meeting with top management at a hotel. Five men, including the one who molested her, were to be there. “I didn’t dare go alone. I brought my eldest daughter and two of my downliners,” she said, according to the report.
The men left immediately after she entered, and she later received a text message to say she had been sacked.
She said she was never paid any of her earnings from her six months at the company, the report said.
