Seashore chit-fund scam: ED raids chartered firm, 2 detained

Bhubaneswar: An Enforcement Directorate (ED) team on Friday, headed by deputy director Ashok Goutam, raided the premises of ‘Anil and Mihir and Associates’, a chartered firm located at Cuttack-Puri road in Bhubaneswar. Many incriminating documents, computer hard-disk were ceased during the raid, which continued for 5 hours. Two employees of the firm were taken into police custody for interrogation.



The chartered firm kept records of monetary transactions of Seashore Group of Companies, a major player in the mega chit fund scam in Odisha.



After the arrival of ED’s deputy director Ashok Goutam in Bhubaneswar on Thursday, its investigation process has been expedited. On the other hand, Chief of Seashore Group Prashant Dash is undergoing marathon interrogation. Dash is currently under CBI remand. According to sources, Dash has himself revealed about the chartered firm during interrogation.
