Bhubaneswar, Oct. 30: The state government is in a dilemma whether to accept a draft worth Rs 10.45 lakh sent by eminent writer Manoj Das to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund or return it.
The dilemma is due to the fact that Das is making the donation following criticism from certain quarters that he had earned the amount as honorarium for acting as an advisor to the two literary publications of the tainted money deposit collection company, Seashore Group, which is under the CBI scanner.
“The draft has already reached us, but it has not yet been deposited,” additional secretary in charge of the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund Nanda Kishore Sethi told The Telegraph. However, he refused to explain the reasons for the delay in depositing the draft.
