No plans to seek extradition of Zhang Jian to Malaysia

PETALING JAYA, Oct 29 (Sin Chew Daily) -- CDTUP founder Zhang Jian was arrested in Thailand lately, but the several companies under the group continue to operate normally in Malaysia. However, the key persons of the group have traveled to Bangkok in order to meet Zhang and discuss the next course of action.



The Ministry of Domestic Trade, Co-operatives and Consumerism has said the Malaysian police would not investigate Zhang in accordance with thee criminal law and as such would not request for his extradition to the country.



Meanwhile, SJK (C) Chung Hua Lukut, which has received RM320,000 donation from Zhang will be put in a difficult situation now, as the building committee is still wondering whether the new school hall should be named "Dewan Zhang Jian."
