Melaleuca CEO Frank VanderSloot to Speak at ISU

Melaleuca CEO Frank VanderSloot to Speak at ISU

The following is a news release from Idaho State University.

POCATELLO - Frank VanderSloot, CEO and founder of Melaleuca, will speak on behalf of the Idaho State University College of Business’s Wells Fargo Speaker Series March 29.

Lunch will be served at noon followed by VanderSloot’s address from 12:20 – 1 p.m. in the Salmon River Suites of the Student Union Building on campus.

Wells Fargo has been a major supporter of all Professional Development activities and events at the College of Business, sponsoring six speakers throughout the course of three years as a free opportunity for College of Business students, alumni and the business community to gain inspiration and valuable insight from successful business people from around the state.

“We are proud to support Idaho State University and its Wells Fargo Speaker Series,” said Todd Cooper, senior vice president for Wells Fargo Business Banking and ISU College of Business alumnus. “As an ISU graduate and member of the College of Business leadership board, I’ve seen firsthand the value the program offers to students, alum and the larger business community. Wells Fargo is focused on education as a means to strengthen our Idaho communities and giving students tools to succeed in the classroom and beyond.”

Cooper and Idaho State University President, Arthur Vailas will introduce VanderSloot at March’s event.

As a highly successful business person in Idaho, VanderSloot has driven Melaleuca, the 1985 wellness company, to international success generating over $1 billion in revenue each year producing personal care products, pharmaceuticals and nutritional items and cleaning products.

In recognition of his great success leading the company, VanderSloot has been awarded by various business organizations and schools as the Idaho Business Leader of the Year, Entrepreneur of the Year by Ernst & Young, CNN and USA Today as well as the Idaho Hall of Fame, U.S. Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors and the Horatio Alger Award and as a 2015 Inductee of the Horatio Alger Association.

In addition, Melaleuca has been placed on Inc. magazine’s list of the 500 fastest-growing and privately held firms in the nation. The company is also a member of the Inc. 500 Hall of Fame and “is the only firm to remain on Inc.’s list for five consecutive years while also earning the publication’s ‘A profitability’ rating each year.”

“Mr. VanderSloot’s central message of entrepreneurship and hard work will resonate with our students and reflects on the College’s vision to foster innovation and entrepreneurship. We are honored to welcome Mr. VanderSloot to campus,” said Tom Ottaway, dean of the ISU College of Business.
