DALLAS - CVSL, the parent company of the Longaberger Co. and other direct-sellers, has changed its name to JRJR Networks.
The company's vice chairman and Longaberger's chairman, president and CEO is John Rochon Jr. The company received board approval, including from John P. Rochon and John Rochon, Jr., the holders more than 50 percent of the company's voting stock, to change its name.
"We inherited the CVSL name when we acquired the company three years ago," the junior Rochon told Direct Selling News. "We have always intended to change our name at the appropriate time, to give us a unique identity. Now that we have grown to encompass 10 companies, doing business across the globe as a 'network of networks,' the time has come to assert our new identity.
"The heart of our company is networks — personal networks, social networks, networks of friends conducting commerce, supported by technology networks. Our new name reflects our unique role as a network of personal commerce networks within the global micro-enterprise sector."
Rochon announced on Feb. 26 that the Longaberger Co. will move employees from the iconic basket building on East Main Street in Newark to the company's home office near Frazeysburg. There were 68 employees working at the basket building last year, according to city documents.
Russell Mack, executive vice president and director of Longaberger's parent company, said all the employees at the Newark office building will remain with the company and move into Building A at the manufacturing campus. There also were some employees from other CVSL companies in the building, he said.
JRJR Networks' companies also include Your Inspiration At Home, Tomboy Tools, Agel Enterprises, Paperly, My Secret Kitchen, Uppercase Living, Kleeneze, Betterware, and Happenings, a lifestyle publication and marketing company.
