Gale Hughes Earns 9th Mary Kay Car

Imagine never having to pay for a car in 20 years. That's what one Crozet woman can claim after she picked up her ninth free car Thursday evening.

Gale Hughes is a Mary Kay sales director who says her last car payment was in 1996, when she started selling Mary Kay products. She earned her first free car within two years.

She earns the cars by meeting her sales quota every six months. Thursday, she picked up her ninth car, a black Chevy equinox with the Mary Kay emblem.

“Don't give up. It's that idea that I know that this is going to get me through because I know that I've worked in other companies for the school system and I know my absolute worst day in another company, for Mary Kay this is just so awesome,” Hughes said.
