ED to file Saradha charges by December

KOLKATA: The Enforcement Directorate will file its chargesheet in the multi-crore Ponzi scam of Saradha group in December.



In last nine months, the ED has issued seven attachment orders, which included three from West Bengal and two each from Odisha and Assam. It has so far identified properties of Saradha group worth Rs 1,500 crore. Of this, it has been able to attach property worth Rs 600 crore.



The first attachment in Bengal, done in February this year, was of the value of Rs 34 crore. The next attachment in April amounted to Rs 106 crore, while the third attachment, done two days back, was of the value of Rs 62 crore. These estimates are being done on cost basis, while the market value of the properties will be much higher.
