Chit fund scam to haunt Naveen in Assembly

With several leaders of the ruling Biju Janata Dal arrested by the CBI in the chit fund scam, the Naveen Patnaik Government is likely to face the wrath of the Opposition like never before in the winter session of the Odisha Assembly scheduled to begin here on Thursday.



Despite having 117 legislators in the 147-member House, the BJD is likely to find itself in one a difficult situation to counter the simultaneous attacks by the Congress and the BJP.



Even as lakhs of investors duped by the chit fund companies were yet to get back their money, the Opposition parties are ready to criticise Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik as many of his party colleagues have been arrested in the scam.
