Bhubaneswar: The special CBI court on Saturday permitted CBI to take MLA Prabhat Tripathy on remand till November 13 for further questioning over his alleged involvement with the Artha Tatwa (AT) Group and its chief Pradip Sethy. The CBI had prayed for a 14-day remand of Tripathy.
Tripathy was arrested by CBI on Friday evening over his alleged involvement with the Artha Tatwa (AT) Group. Earlier on the day, Tripathy appeared before the CBI for fourth time for interrogation. Following his arrest, Tripathy was suspended from BJD. Earlier on October 25, Tripathy was grilled for two and half hours by the Central investigating agency. He was interrogated about the mode of selection of Artha Tatwa Group chief Pradip Sethy as the winner of the ‘best youth cooperator’ prize for running Multi-Purpose Cooperative Society by the State Cooperative Union.
