Bhubaneswar: BJD’s authorised signatory Saroj Sahu appeared at the CBI office on Saturday afternoon for questioning by the central agency which is probing into the multi-crore chit fund scam in Odisha. Sahu entered the CBI office at around 2.30 pm and came out shortly before 4 pm. After coming out of the CBI office, he declined to say anything beyond claiming that he was in no way involved in the chit fund scam.
Earlier, while going into the CBI office, Sahu told journalists that he was summoned over phone and he was not aware in what connection he was called by the CBI officials.
While Sahu claimed ignorance about the reason behind CBI calling him, sources said the investigators wanted to interrogate him on the basis of certain information obtained during the grilling of broker Subhankar Nayak, who had been arrested by the central agency on November 18.
