Bhubaneswar: Chit fund firm Astha International Limited's state head Subhransu Lenka allegedly splurged on women at foreign locales. The fact came to the fore when the CBI during simultaneous raids at more than 14 places in Odisha and Gujarat as well as Goa, Indore and Jabalpur on Wednesday found photographs of Lenka with bikini-clad girls.
The Surat-based company is accused of cheating investors of nearly Rs 10 crore in Odisha. At present, Lenka is lodged in Jharpada Special Jail since his arrest by the Crime Branch since June 2013. On February 15, the CBI took the firm's key functionary Chandrasinh Chauhan Shivaji on remand for interrogation. Gujarat police arrested Shivaji at Surat in June 2015.
On December 23, 2015, the CBI brought Santosh Kisan Sapkale, managing director of Astha International, on seven-day remand from Surat. CBI sources said Shivaji and Sapkale are retired police officers of Gujarat and floated Astha International in Surat in 2009.
