QNET Supports e-Commerce Expo In Ghana

The Second Ghana e-Commerce Expo and Conference designed to help boost the growth of secure online trade was held in Accra recently, supported by Global Direct Selling Company, QNET.

The two-day event with the theme: “Unleashing Ghana’s Online Potential,” was the largest gathering of companies and professionals from the e-commerce fraternity that included, among others Internet Service Providers, Telecommunications companies, Software Designers and solution providers in the mobile commerce.

Mr Felix Kwakye Ofosu, the Deputy Minister of Communications, who officiated the opening of the conference, commended the organisers for drawing the nation’s attention to the potentials of online platforms. He noted that the conference was in line with the government’s goal to transform the lives of its people through cashless economy.

Speaking at the Conference, QNET’s V-Partner, Cherian Mathew said, “For us at QNET – a global direct selling company that uses e-commerce at its core, our success for the past 18 years is mainly attributed to the power of e-commerce. 

“QNET was one of the early adopters of e-commerce in the direct selling industry, which helped the company reach out to customers all over the world. This helped the company expand its presence, from its humble beginning in Asia, to other regions such as Middle East and North Africa (MENA) as well as Western part of Africa in a relatively short span of time.”

He went on to explain that QNET customers purchase a wide range of high value products and services ranging from wellness and nutrition products to online education courses, branded watches and jewellery to holidays and vacation memberships from QNET’s e-Commerce portal from around the world. 

“This is how we integrated e-Commerce into an industry which was basically a home based industry, and today, we are indeed proud to be one of the pioneers in doing so.

According to Cherian, QNET utilizes the direct sales business model on a proprietary e-commerce platform to market its products, providing business opportunities to aspiring entrepreneurs regardless of social or geographical background.

In conjunction with the Expo, QNET also had its own product booth, displaying an array of high value products that caught the attention of more than 2,000 visitors to the booth. QNET’s Leaders and Independent Representatives (IRs) in Ghana were on hand to provide information on the products and services.

The QNET-sponsored event provided a unique platform for over 30 exhibitors, 100 conference delegates and the thousands of exhibition visitors to share knowledge, learn from leading experts and update themselves on the latest trends in e-commerce.

It also helped to build new business contacts, showcase latest technologies as well as network with major players in Ghana’s fast growing online business market. Indeed, QNET’s role as the main sponsor of the event has given local businesses the much needed opportunity to transform into global brands.
