Custom jewelry seller Origami Owl has appointed a former Pepsi executive as its new CEO.
The Chandler-based jewelry maker tapped Brett Blake to lead the 5-year-old company.
“Origami Owl has been the talk of the industry since it burst on to the scene a few years ago," Blake said in a statement. "While this company has accomplished so much in such a short period of time, I believe the story is just getting started."
Blake plans to lead the burgeoning company, which also recently expanded into Canada, to the next level. He brings more than 20 years of helping companies implement growth strategies.
Origami Owl expects its recent Canadian expansion to eventually make up 20 to 30 percent of sales, said a spokesperson.
Origami Owl was started in 2010 by then 14-year-old Bella Weems, who wanted to earn enough money to buy a car by the time she turned 16. Today, the company is a global direct sales firm with hundreds of employees in Chandler and more than 60,000 independent sale consultants in the US, Canada and Puerto Rico.
