As the tenure of Justice (Retd) Shyamal Sen Commission set up by the All India Trinamool Congress (AITC) government to probe complaints against the Saradha Group of Companies and other Ponzi scheme companies is scheduled to end on Wednesday, the Opposition parties slammed the State Government for not extending it. Senior Communist Party of India-Marxist CPI (M) leader Sujan Chakrabarty led a delegation that submitted a memorandum to the Commission here on Tuesday.
The delegation has demanded that the Commission must make public the list of Ponzi scheme investors who applied for compensation. However, Justice Sen told The Hindu that “Commission has nothing to do in the matter.”
“Until yesterday (Monday) we have not received any letter from the State Government regarding the extension of the Commission’s tenure,” sources in the Commission told The Hindu.
