Normalcy Returns to House after Speaker's Word on Ponzi Scam

BHUBANESWAR: Normalcy returned to the Assembly after seven days on Thursday with Speaker Niranjan Pujari assuring the Opposition members that he will examine their demand for discussion on the chit fund scam in the House.



As the House reassembled for the post-lunch session, Leader of the Opposition Narasingh Mishra asked if the black money issue, which is under adjudication, can be discussed in the Lok Sabha, why the chit fund scam cannot be discussed in Odisha Assembly.



Referring to the advice sought by the Speaker from the Advocate General in this regard, Mishra said so far there has been no response from him. He requested the Speaker to consider the Opposition demand and restore normalcy.
