CBI files first chargesheet in Saradha scam; TMC MP Kunal Ghosh, Sudipta Sen named

Kolkata: The Central Bureau of Investigation on Wednesday filed the first chargesheet in multi-crore Saradha chit-fund scam. Suspended Trinamool Congress (TMC) MP Kunal Ghosh, Saradha Group chairman Sudipta Sen and director Debjani Mukherjee have been named in the chargesheet, say reports.

 

CBI has booked them under sections 120B, 420 and 409 of Indian Penal Code and sections 4 and 6 of Prize Chit and Money Circulation Schemes (Banning) Act, 1978.

 

It is learnt that CBI has said this one is a preliminary chargesheet as it was mandatory for the agency to file one within 90 days of probe. A supplementary chargesheet with more names will be filed soon.
